How Grizzly Mortgage rebranded and grew — without losing its rankings.

From a single loan officer to a growing team.

Grizzly began as Grizzly Home Loans, launched when Darel Handley became a mortgage loan officer in Kalispell. We built that first website to fit exactly where the business was: a credible, professional home for a solo loan officer helping buyers across the Flathead Valley.

It served Grizzly well for a couple of years. But as Darel’s team and his range of offerings grew, the business started to outgrow the brand it launched with.

The challenge

Grow the brand — without resetting the progress.

By May 2026, Grizzly Home Loans had expanded into a full team with a broader set of loan products. The name and the site needed to grow into Grizzly Mortgage to match.

The catch: a rebrand is one of the riskiest things you can do to a site that’s already ranking. Handled carelessly, a name change can erase years of search equity overnight. Grizzly had real rankings to protect — and at the same time wanted to start ranking for individual loan types and reach buyers in neighboring communities like Whitefish, Bigfork, and Lakeside.

Built the original site: Grizzly Home Loans

We launched Grizzly's first website when Darel became a loan officer — a clean, credible site sized to a solo MLO that earned trust and grew its organic search traffic over its run.

Rebranded to Grizzly Mortgage with SEO protected

In May 2026 we relaunched as Grizzly Mortgage, handling the transition with deliberate measures to preserve the existing search equity through the name change — so the rankings and traffic built over years could carry forward instead of resetting.

Structured to rank for individual loan types

Rather than one generic page trying to cover everything, we built the new site so each loan type can earn its own rankings — matched to the specific searches borrowers actually use.

Expanded reach into neighboring communities

We've put extensive work into growing Grizzly's visibility beyond Kalispell — into Whitefish, Bigfork, Lakeside, and the surrounding Flathead communities — so the team can compete for buyers across the valley.

Email marketing

We set up email marketing to keep Grizzly top of mind with past clients and referral partners — the relationships that drive repeat and referral business in a long-cycle, trust-based industry like mortgage.

Google Business Profile & ongoing consulting

We optimized Grizzly's Google Business Profile for local visibility, and we continue to consult on broader marketing efforts as the team and its goals grow.

The result

A bigger brand, built on the rankings it already earned.

The first site drove triple-digit organic traffic growth over its run. With the May 2026 launch of Grizzly Mortgage, that hard-won foundation carried into a brand built for where the business is headed — engineered to hold its search equity through the rebrand, and positioned to rank for individual loan types and grow across the Flathead Valley.
