We All Just Want To Feel Something

Marketing is all about creating a connection. Chipotle did just that when creating their Scarecrow short film and game for smartphones. In this video, you see a Scarecrow who is obviously tired of working for “The Man” who does not have the best interest of the consumer in mind. The short film really tugs at your heartstrings. As far as this campaign goes, I count it as a homerun. It is well thought out and very good quality. Check out the video below, you may have already seen it considering it has peaked 11.5 Million views at the time I am writing this.

My first instincts was to share this video. It was heartwarming and it left you with an appreciation for fresh food and for Chipotle. YouTube, is a wonderful thing. It suggests content you might find interesting and right under The Scarecrow was a spoof video originally posted on Funny or Die. Check out how they were able to take the same video and spin it in the exact opposite direction.

Spoiler Alert: Warm fuzzy feeling you had after watching the first version will be squashed.

This is a great demonstration on how We All Just Want To Feel Something, when it comes to life. When an image or video comes along that we connect to, it makes it easier for us to connect to a product or service, even if it’s just lunch.
